[What is Banshu weave]

“Banshu weaving” is said to have originated in the Edo period (1600-1868) when the technique was brought to the Banshu area from Kyoto via the Tanba Kaido.
The warm climate of this area was suitable for cotton cultivation, and it was blessed with clean, low-hardness water ideal for yarn dyeing. We have been operating a dyeing factory since 1950 in this production area of “Banshu-ori”.
“FUJIGAUZE” is a factory brand that has been creating cloth products with original plans using Banshu weave since 2020 using its own dyeing technology.
